JLP RELEASES NEW AD

February 15, 2016

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) released a new ad this morning titled “Babies in a Real Sense.” After the ad is introduced, a mother of one of the 19 babies who died describes the conditions of the hospital which led to the klebsiella bacteria resulting in the death of her baby.

Additionally, the ad predominantly features then Health Minister Dr. Fenton Ferguson, Minister for Labour and Social Security and People's National Party (PNP) candidate for St. Thomas Eastern, including his statement that the 19 babies who died were "not babies in the real sense.” His comment sparked outrage across Jamaica which was universally condemned. The spot ends with “we cannot trust the PNP with our babies.”
