The Prime Minister Bruce Golding has told Chinese investors that his government wants to develop Jamaica as a hub for Chinese commerce and trade with Central and South American countries.

Mr Golding, who is now in Beijing on an official visit, started a series of meetings yesterday to discuss new and existing investment opportunities
between Jamaica and China.

At his meeting with China’s State Development and Investment Corporation, Mr Golding said Jamaica is particularly interested in investments instead of loans.

He says this is because Jamaica is pursuing a strategy to reduce its high level of indebtedness.
