Prof. the Hon. Oswald Harding has led a life marked by tireless service to the nation of Jamaica. The Honourable President has served in the fields of law, diplomacy and education. Senator Harding who has been President of the Senate since 2007, served in this capacity twice before in 1980 and 1983. He has the distinction of being the longest serving Senator in Jamaica’s history.

Senator Harding is a Senior Partner in the Law firm O.G. Harding and Company. He is Professor of Law & Philosophy at the University of Technology. He previously served as Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of the West Indies. Senator Harding is the only PhD graduate in Philosophy produced by the University of the West Indies. He is a member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and the Kingston Cricket Club.

Senator Harding is married to the Hon. Marigold Harding, Custos Rotulorum of the parish of St. Andrew. They have two sons and four grandchildren.
