Prime Minister Andrew Holness has instructed that a formal report be made to the political ombudsman, following reports of the stoning of buses transporting Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters.
The supporters were returning from a meeting in Mandeville, Manchester on Sunday night.

THE GOVERNMENT is pushing ahead with its plans to go after the thousands of persons who owe the State more than $2 billion in unpaid traffic tickets.
Minister of National Security Dwight Nelson is to table a Bill in the Senate today to offer an amnesty to persons who voluntarily pay these outstanding fines.

RUNAWAY BAY, St Ann — With a little over three weeks before the start of the 2011/2012 academic school year, Education Minister Andrew Holness has again reiterated his stance on the continued existence of failing schools and their economic burden on the education ministry.
Holness said the society is entering a new era where the status of failing schools will have to be addressed and it is his view that they do not have a right to exist.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding has suggested that the perpetrators of gruesome killings, like the recent beheadings in St Catherine and St Andrew, should face the death penalty.
Speaking on his monthly call-in programme Jamaica House Live last night, the prime minister said he is prepared for the debate that will follow his suggestions.

STATE MINISTER in the Ministry of National Security, St Aubyn Bartlett, has said there are stories of hope and success at the Rio Cobre Juvenile Correctional Centre.
While noting the existence of weak points, particularly in relation to the physical facility, Bartlett pointed out that he noted signs of hope, and that proper engagement of the juveniles would result in further reform.
