Minister Baugh gained extensive experience while serving as Intern/Resident in Surgery and Orthopedics at the University Hospital of the West Indies, Senior Registrar in Surgery at Northampton General Hospital in Oxford and Consultant Surgeon and Senior Medical Officer at the Cornwall Regional Hospital.
Political Experience: 
Minister Baugh entered representational politics in 1979, elected Member of Parliament for North West St. James for , the period 1980-1989, Chairman of the Jamaica Labour Party, Member of Parliament (M.P.) for the West Central St. Catherine constituency, served as the JLP representative in West Rural St. Andrew, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Opposition Spokesman on Health, and the Environment as well as Leader of the Opposition.

The Honourable Dr. Kenneth Baugh is a Medical Doctor and Consultant Surgeon by profession.

He was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on September 10, 2007.

Minister Baugh was born in Montego Bay St. James, the fourth of ten children.  He was educated at the Royal College of Surgeons, the University of the West Indies, Cornwall College, and Springfield Elementary School.

The Honourable Dr. Kenneth Baugh is married to Vilma and they have two sons, a daughter and eight grandchildren.
